Yes, all Island Rides golf cart LSVs have a power windshield wiper and can be driven or parked in the rain. The golf cart LSVs have a roof and a full DOT-approved safety windshield that offer some protection. All Weather Enclosures are available to provide protection from inclement weather.
No. The golf cart LSVs should never be driven through standing water or flood waters, since this can cause water to get into the motor, battery compartment or wiring and cause extensive damage.
No. Island Rides does not recommend operating the golf cart LSV during electrical storms, periods of lightning/thunder nor during severe weather events (high wind speeds/torrential rain storms/etc) for safety reasons.
No. Golf cart LSVs can only be driven on the street. Off-roading is not permitted.

Golf Cart LSV Parking
– Golf Cart LSVs can be parked in any ordinary car-parking spots or parking garages.
– Golf Cart LSVs must adhere to the parking signs around town which show where it is ok and not ok to park. Please note – Isle of Palms has “residential only” parking on various side streets during certain hours of the day, depending on the season. Please be sure to adhere to the rules listed on any parking signs to avoid getting a parking ticket.
– Golf cart LSVs can also park in any “Golf Cart Only” parking spots.

Golf Cart LSV Rental & Booking
Golf cart Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) rental requirements are basically the same as renting a car from a rental car agency. The primary renter must be at least 25 years of age, sign the rental contract, have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Any alternate drivers must be at least 21 years of age, be listed on the rental contract, have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Free Delivery
Delivery is free for rental addresses in Isle of Palms, Wild Dunes and Sullivan’s Island SC.
Standard Delivery
Standard Delivery applies to the following rental locations:
– Downtown Charleston golf cart LSV rentals
– Mt. Pleasant golf cart LSV rentals
– Daniel Island golf cart LSV rentals
– North Charleston golf cart LSV rentals
– West Ashley golf cart LSV rentals

– Golf Cart LSV booking is by the night, so it’s similar to booking a hotel.
– Golf cart LSV drop-off is between 12pm – 5pm on the first day of the reservation.
– If you’d like to use the LSV in the morning of your first day, please start the reservation on day earlier.
– Golf cart LSV pick-up is between 8 am – 11am on the last day of the reservation.
– If you’d like to use the LSV on your last day, please end the reservation one day later.
We come to you! Island Rides will deliver the golf cart to your rental address at the start of the reservation and pick up the golf cart at the end of the reservation.
In order to secure your reservation, the rental fee is collected when the reservation is booked. Payment can be made with most major credit cards.
Cancellation Policy – Cancel for Any Reason Coverage:
Worried about a last minute change of plans? Island Rides’ Cancel for Any Reason Coverage is an optional add-on service that provides protection against life’s unknowns. If Cancel for Any Reason Coverage is purchased during the initial reservation booking, you can cancel your reservation for any reason, up to 12pm the day before your rental start date and receive a full refund of all rental fees and taxes, minus the Cancel for Any Reason Coverage fees. Refunds are issued to the credit card used to book the reservation.
Cancellation Policy – Standard
If the optional “Cancel for Any Reason Coverage” was not purchased during the initial reservation booking, then Island Rides’ Standard Cancellation Policy applies. Refunds are issued to the credit card used to book the reservation. The amount eligible for refund depends on the number of days remaining from the date a cancellation request is received by Island Rides until the rental start date on the reservation, as follows:
* 30 days or greater until the rental start date: 97% refund is available
* 15 – 29 days until the rental start date: 50% refund is available
* 0 – 14 days until the rental start date: 0% refund is available

Golf Cart LSV Power & Charging
All Island Rides golf cart Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) are 100% electric. They are clean, quiet and fun to drive!
– Our standard battery golf cart LSVs can generally travel between 10 – 20 miles once they are fully charged.
– Our lithium battery powered golf cart LSVs can generally travel about 20 – 30 miles once they are fully charged.
– Our Max Range lithium battery powered golf cart LSVs can generally travel about 40 – 50 miles once they are fully charged.
All of our golf cart LSVs have a battery charge level indicator that shows roughly how much battery life is left, although this is only a guide and should not be taken literally.
– The golf cart LSV has an onboard charger and comes with an extension cord so you can plug it into a standard household 3-prong electrical outlet.
– It’s always best practice to charge the golf cart LSV when it’s not being used, in order to keep the batteries topped off and ready to go!
– The golf cart LSV will need to be plugged in each night and allowed to charge overnight so that it’s ready to go for your island rides the next day.
– We recommend trying to keep the batteries above 50% charge level at all times.
– The golf cart LSV batteries should never be drained to below 30% charge level, as this can cause damage to the batteries.
No. Driving the golf cart LSV until the batteries are completely dead will not only cause you to be stranded somewhere, it can also cause severe damage to the battery pack, sometimes to the point of needing a full battery pack replacement, which is an expensive repair.
– The golf cart LSV should be plugged in whenever it’s not in use, to keep the batteries charged and ready to go.
– We recommend trying to keep the batteries above 50% charge level at all times.
– The golf cart LSV batteries should never be drained to below 30% charge level, as this can cause damage to the batteries.
